Pancreatic Cyst Drainage
Pancreatic pseudocyst is a collection of fluid that is found around the pancreas after a patient develops acute or chronic pancreatitis. During endoscopic treatment, a stent is placed between the stomach or the duodenum and the cyst so that the cyst drains into the gastrointestinal tract. An alternate method is to pass a small catheter through the pancreatic duct and into the cyst if the cyst is communicating with the pancreatic duct.
